A film about breaking gender barriers and celebrating diversity within skate culture.

This project was produced in collaboration with the Brighton Skate collective. They position themselves as an all-female LGBTQ+ friendly skate crew in the male-dominated skate subculture. In the film Weezy and Anya, the founder and co-founder of the collective, share their stories and what sparked them to create a community that acts as a safe space for its members. Aimed at featuring proper gender representation and smashing outdated stereotypes Won’t Comply becomes an emotional representation of the feelings that come with belonging to LGBTQIA+, skate and subculture communities.
